2023 Key Issues: Environment
Our members support sensible regulations that will allow Minnesota to maintain a clean environment and healthy business climate while fostering economic change and growth statewide.
The hope for the 2023 legislative session was that bipartisan cooperation could continue on the issue of identifying efficiencies and streamlining the environmental review and permitting process. Previous sessions have led to agreements to modernize the permitting system while vigorously protecting the environment and natural resources of the state. The Chamber supports a state permitting and environmental regulatory process that allows for our state to protect our natural environment while fostering economic growth.
2023 priorities include:
Environmental review and permitting:
- Increase efficiency and streamline the environmental review and permitting process.
- Engage communication and coordination among state agencies.
- Abide by federal statutes and rules to avoid state-by-state patchwork of requirements.
