Manufacturers' Council celebrates Coolest Thing winner at 3M

The kickoff of the Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota started, and you can nominate your favorite Minnesota product today. You can do that through August 15, so you’ve got a couple of weeks. We’ll announce the first bracket of voting of those most favorite things right here in Minnesota that you nominate.

We'll start the bracket and public voting starting September 2 through October 5. We'll narrow it down and join us on October 7 at our Manufacturer Summit, where the winner will be announced. This week, we actually spent time out at 3M for our Manufacturer's Council tour at 3M's Innovation Center. Featured there, of course, was last year's winner of the Coolest Thing Made, Scotch Tape, which is incidentally in its 100th anniversary of the product.

Scotch Tape won last year’s Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota contest and was featured heavily during our event. But most importantly, we toured the facility and saw all the amazing products that 3M has produced over the years, and how they lean in every day to create new products, improve technologies, and bring new applications that help all of us in our lives every day.

We tip our hat to the team at 3M for opening their doors at the Innovation Center and showing us a terrific day and educating us along the way as well.
