Voting in Minnesota and the Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota contest

By Doug Loon
President and CEO
Minnesota Chamber of Commerce

As we all know, the November 5 General Election is fast approaching. With that, its important to know about how, and when you can vote in Minnesota.

First, as we're all aware, it's important to remember Minnesota's economy when it comes to this year's elections, and it's important to do your part as businesspeople. So, stay informed, get engaged and make sure to vote this election season. But first you must register to vote, and you can do that early or on election day. Minnesota is also an early voting state, so take the opportunity to cast your vote when you can – not  just on Election Day. Absentee voting is also available. You can sign up for one time, or permanent, absentee voting, and even track the process of your ballot online.

Our economy, as you know, is going to be greatly impacted by this year's elections, certainly the top of the ticket all the way down to the local elections, they all are going to matter to make sure that we put Minnesota on a strong trajectory in the private sector economy and voting matters. Each of your voices matters this election season. Be sure to visit mnmatterscoalition.com, for more information.

Also, before November, you will get another critical opportunity to vote in the Chamber's program called the coolest thing made contest on Tuesday, September 3, Minnesota chamber will release the first bracket of the head-to-head matchups in the contest, the public can vote no more than once a day, please at coolestthingmn.com. Each week, winners of each head-to-head matchup will advance to the next, and each week, the public can vote for their favorite products. We're doing this to celebrate innovators and manufacturers right here in Minnesota, and we're thrilled with the number of nominations we have received, so thank you to each of those who submitted their nominations, and we look forward to the voting phase starting September 3.

The winner then will be announced at the Chamber's Manufacturers’ Summit on October 8. So be sure to check the Chamber's Events tab, where you can check out and get registered for the October 8 announcement at our Manufacturers’ Summit of the coolest thing made right here in Minnesota.

Thank you for all you do to support the business community and the Chamber of Commerce!
