Leaders Lab wraps up program year
This year’s Leaders Lab class wrapped up its tour of the state with an in-depth look at agriculture and food production on September 18-19 in Mankato.
Tamara Nelson, executive director of Minnesota AgriGrowth Council, kicked things off with a discussion on the state of agriculture in Minnesota.Participants spent a full day with Christensen Farms where they toured their food mill and trailer wash before suiting up at one of the pig farms. Curt and Debbie Fisher of Mankato hosted the group for dinner at their beautiful home on the Blue Earth River where Curt and Dave Schooff of Coldwell Banker Commercial Fisher Group shared leadership and career advice. Davis Family Dairies in New Sweden opened its doors for a firsthand look at state-of-the art dairy technology. The session ended at CHS Oilseed processing facility where they learned about the impact of the soybean industry on Minnesota and Mankato specifically.
