Education and Workforce Development Policy Committee

Ensure that Minnesota's K-12 and post-secondary education systems are producing a workforce prepared to meet the demands of our global economy. Increase accountability for spending and strengthen performance standards for students and institutions.

Energy Policy Committee

Ensure reliable supply and competitive electric rates by increasing conservation, base-load generation and transmission system capacity. Encourage development of renewable technologies by using incentives and market forces instead of additional government mandates. Represent business customers before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.

Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee (ENRPC)

Streamline, shorten the timeline and reduce the cost of environmental permitting. Ensure that climate change policy is addressed at the national or international levels and not state or regional levels. Represent business customers on regulatory issues before Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Fiscal Policy Committee

Advance reform in state spending for more cost-effective delivery of programs and services. Advance tax reform that will create a more stable source of revenues and encourage the growth of business in Minnesota.

Health Policy Committee

Make quality care affordable to all Minnesotans by ensuring that the 2008 state health care reforms are implemented. Advance a policy for long-term health care. Monitor and weigh in on the federal debate over health care reform with regard to its impact on Minnesota businesses.

Labor/Management Policy Committee

Reduce employer costs by addressing workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, wage issues and other employer mandates. Maintain the Workers' Compensation Advisory Council process for recommending changes to law.

Transportation Policy Committee

Support recommendations of the Strategic Management and Operations Advisory Task Force as a first step toward exploring greater efficiencies in the Minnesota Department of Transportation operations and projects. Increase transportation project allocation in general bonding bill.
