Join a policy committee

You have the opportunity to help shape our legislative agenda by joining a policy committee. These committees are co-chaired by Chamber lobbying staff and a member organization. They meet regularly and discuss the policy landscape of everything from the environment to taxes and health care. We encourage you to be heard in the legislative process!

Ensure that Minnesota's K-12 and postsecondary education systems are producing a workforce prepared to meet the demands of our global economy. Increase accountability for spending and strengthen performance standards for students and institutions.

Energy Policy
Ensure reliable, cost-effective power at competitive prices for Minnesota’s businesses. Encourage development of renewable/clean technologies by using incentives and market forces instead of additional government mandates. Discontinue cost-shifting of electricity rates for commercial and industrial customers. Represent business customers before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.

Environment and Natural Resources Policy
Increase efficiency and streamline the environmental review and permitting process. Promote communication and coordination among state agencies. Promote and educate members and the public on the 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Allow mining, forestry and agriculture to grow under sensible government regulations. Represent business customers on regulatory issues before the Department of Natural Resources, the Pollution Control Agency and the Department of Agriculture.

Workplace Management Policy
Reduce employer costs by addressing workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, wage issues and other employer mandates. Maintain the Workers' Compensation Advisory Council process for recommending changes to law.
