Workers’ Compensation Group Insurance Program

Minnesota companies now have another avenue to address escalating workers’ compensation costs. Through a partnership between the Minnesota Chamber and SFM, a Minnesota-based employer, we can provide our members with first-class service and the potential for a premium discount in the form of up to a 15-percent scheduled Chamber Safety Group Credit.

SFM, based in the Twin Cities, is Minnesota’s largest workers’ compensation insurer. SFM is distinguished by:
  • Fast injury response focused on minimizing costs and getting your employees back to work.
  • Medical costs controlled by SFM’s in-house physicians, nurses and specialized bill review systems.
  • Convenient online reporting of work injuries.
  • Online risk management services, including 24/7 access to your claims database, state-of-the-art report generation and data analysis.
  • Practical safety advice by specialists who understand your business. Access to extensive injury prevention resources and videos.
  • Legal guidance and resources available at no charge through SFM’s in-house legal firm.

Safety Management Committee: In addition to this cost-competitive product offering, the Minnesota Chamber has set up a Safety Management Committee. This committee is charged with developing systems and programs to help educate employers and employees on workplace safety. All Minnesota Chamber members will benefit, regardless of whether you purchase your workers’ compensation insurance through SFM.

For more information, ask your agent to contact Kris Kniefel at SFM directly at (952) 838-4226 or krisk@sfmic.com, or if you are interested in serving on the Safety Management Committee, please contact Mary Bethke, director of human resources and member benefits, at (651) 292-4672, (800) 821-2230 or e-mail mbethke@mnchamber.com.
